Doug Flatt Memorial Leadership Award

Doug Flatt, the chief executive officer of Mid Columbia Bus Company, was well known in school districts throughout Oregon, particularly those in this region. Doug lost his life in a tragic plane crash while on business. In guiding the growth and operation of Midco, Doug exemplified the finest qualities of leadership, attention to detail, service to his community, interpersonal relationships and customer service. The purpose of the Doug Flatt Leadership Award is to recognize a school administrator who exemplifies the same qualities for which Doug was legendary. The Mid-Columbia Bus Company was founded in Condon, and Doug was a graduate of Condon High School.

This award is sponsored by the InterMountain Education Service District and Mid Columbia Bus Company. The award is open to all school administrators serving in Morrow, Umatilla and Union counties in a local school district or in an education service district that is a customer of Mid Columbia Bus Company.

Nominations for the Doug Flatt Memorial Leadership Award are open each year from February until April. The winner is announced at the Pendleton Crystal Apple Awards ceremony each spring.

Nominations for the 2017 Doug Flatt Memorial Leadership Award are NOW CLOSED.
