Forum participants are:
Desireé Coyote is the Family Violence Services Program Manager for the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation (CTUIR). Desireé has a strong drive to enhance the safety of her community, specifically for victims of crime and their families. Her program provides direct services to victims of intimate partner violence, sexual assault, elder abuse and stalking in rural and Tribal communities. Desireé assisted in enhancing safety and accountability as a member of Women of Color Network, Oregon’s Governors Council on Domestic Violence, PCADV’s Documenting Our Work and the Oregon Department of Justice, Crime Victim and Survivor Services Advisory Committee.
Kola Shippentower-Thompson is the founder of the Wisáwca Project, LLC, an organization working for change, for better communication and involvement. Kola has developed a Safety Plan to be utilized by anyone in identifying safety methods, contacts and procedures to keep one safe, whether in an abusive relationship or a plan to track a missing person. She takes personal safety to heart and especially in advocating for MMIWP (Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and People). Kola is also an actress and host of the I AM podcast.
The cost for the series of four forums is $15 per person, $25 per couple or $5 per forum at the door and FREE admission for students.
