In an inspiring session on December 14, 2023, Certified Trauma & Resilience Practitioners Rick & Doris Bowman from Bowman Consulting Group took us on a journey toward true trauma-informed understanding. Held at Pendleton IMESD, the event drew a diverse crowd of 25 attendees from Hermiston, Pilot Rock, Pendleton, Baker, Athena-Weston, IMESD, Milton-Freewater, and Burnt River.
The day was packed with eye-opening moments as Rick and Doris delved into the 6 core principles of being "trauma-informed." Attendees didn't just listen—they rolled up their sleeves for activities that helped them plan actionable steps and strategies. It wasn't just theory; it was about getting practical, with tangible tools to make their spaces more trauma-informed.
What set this workshop apart was its focus on real-life application. Participants left not just with knowledge but with the skills to apply what they learned in their daily lives.
