IMESD
August 6, 2025
Summer Series, free professional development hosted by the Oregon Trail Regional Educator Network (REN) and Intermountain Education Service District, kicked off on June 16, 2025 and will continue through August 20, 2025. The series offers 27 mostly full-day sessions for regional educators emphasizing classroom management, literacy, arts & culture, mathematics instruction, support for new teachers, and training for teachers of newcomers and multilingual students. To date, 216 teachers from more than 20 school districts have participated in this diverse collection of offerings.
Summer Series sessions are hosted at the Pendleton IMESD, the La Grande IMESD, and Eastern Oregon University. Teachers who attend are issued Professional Development Units and are also able to apply for discounted graduate level credit via the REN’s partner university, EOU. Teachers were made aware of the opportunity last spring as REN staff visited area schools to share about the offerings.
Before the school year begins in late August for most regional districts, teachers can still take advantage of the following Summer Series sessions: AI Tools for Teachers, SPED New Teacher Workshop, Literacy Make & Take Day with Yolanda Westerberg, SIOP Overview, Making an Impact on Student Learning, Leading with Mentorship, GROW Beginning Teacher Training, Google Drive Tips & Tricks, and A SORA Starter Guide.
