Ione SD Students

At InterMountain ESD, we believe that effective communication does more than inform. It strengthens school culture in many ways, especially by directly amplifying the voices of students, staff, and communities.

This fall, our Communications team partnered with Ione School District to produce a short video capturing what students value most about their school experience. The video revisits a campaign launched last spring, when student leaders in Ione received funding from the statewide #OregonStrong initiative for their efforts to mobilize their peers, collecting student input on the quality of their education.  That project centered on a simple but powerful question:

“How does it feel being an Ione Cardinal?”

In their own words, students expressed deep pride in the relationships, support, and sense of belonging that define their school culture.

“I feel really safe here, and I like that,”
- Rosa Aguilar

Now, learning in a newly opened facility that was made possible through a community-supported bond measure, students reflected again on the spirit of care and connection that continues to shape their day-to-day experiences.

Student-centered communication not only strengthens engagement, it reinforces the values that help school communities thrive. We thank Ione School District for the opportunity to collaborate and highlight the voices of their students.
