The InterMountain ESD partnered with Hermiston School District to bring nationally recognized crisis response expert Cheri Lovre to the region for a two-day training, held August 19–20. Staff from across our partner districts came together to build a shared, unified approach to crisis response — from an incident's first moments through the long road of recovery.

Lovre's trainings walk teams through the full arc of a crisis response: initial notification and mobilization, on-the-ground incident management, supporting students and staff in the immediate aftermath, communicating with families and the community, and sustaining recovery support in the weeks and months that follow. Participants leave with concrete protocols, defined team roles, and practiced skills for guiding their school community through crises.
