Audiology Services
AUDIOLOGY SERVICES

GOAL: Early identification of hearing concerns to ensure access to language for learning, communication, and development.
The IMESD Audiology Program provides comprehensive educational audiology services, including diagnostic assessments, for infants, children, and students from birth through school age. We also provide consultative services for deaf and hard-of-hearing students, their families, and educators.
-
Intermountain Education Service District provides initial newborn hearing screenings and follow-up hearing evaluations using OAEs and high-frequency tympanometry for infants who did not pass their initial newborn hospital hearing screening.
-
Each fall, the IMESD Audiologist oversees hearing screenings for students in grades K–1 and 3 across component school districts, with follow-up screenings provided throughout the school year.
-
There is no fee for audiology evaluations or consultations for residents of counties within our Education Service District’s service area. Parents are responsible for cost of hearing aids, earmolds and hearing aid repairs.
Referral
Referrals for audiological testing may be obtained by a parent, physician, or any other individual or agency who has concerns.
